Common Eye Conditions
Long Sight (Hypermetropia)
The opposite of myopia, here the power system is not strong enough
for the length of the eye. The eye has to increase its power to focus even on distance objects and then create even more power to focus near to. This causes a problem at times as sometimes the amount of effort required is too great and gives either a blurred image or an uncomfortable eye, or possibly both.
As the eye has to do less work to see in the distance than at near the distance vision is generally better than the close vision – once again explaining the term long sight.
